Two new Canadian routes coming to Sangster International Airport
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Two new Canadian routes will be operating out of the Sangster International Airport, connecting Jamaica to Ottawa and Halifax during the upcoming Winter 2025 – 2026 season .
Both routes will be operated by Air Canada, the flag and largest carrier of Canada, strengthening Jamaica’s connectivity with North America, according to MBJ Airports Limited (MBJ), operators of the Sangster International Airport.
The Ottawa route will begin operations on December 7, 2025, and run through April 12, 2026, with a weekly frequency on Sundays, leaving Ottawa at 8:30 am and arriving in Montego Bay at 1:15 pm. The return leg will depart MBJ at 2:25 pm and arrive in Ottawa at 6:40 pm.
The route to Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, will begin on December 4, 2025, and continue through April 9, 2026, operating weekly on Tuesdays. The flight leaves Halifax at 9:25 am to arrive in Montego Bay at 1:15 pm and the return leg leaves MBJ at 2:30 pm to arrive in Canada at 8:00 pm.
In addition to these new routes, the airport will also benefit during the 2025-2026 winter season from increased frequencies on existing routes to Toronto and Montreal. Toronto will add three additional weekly frequencies, reaching a total of 10 frequencies per week, while Montreal will add one more, reaching four weekly frequencies.
The increased connectivity was welcomed by Shane Munroe, chief executive officer of MBJ, as the company continued the celebration of its 22nd anniversary of operating the Montego Bay airport.
