THE Supreme Ventures Foundation, in partnership with Caymanas Park, made tangible steps to improve its environmental footprint and sustainability through a comprehensive tree-planting exercise conducted on Labour Day, May 23, 2025. This initiative underscores the organisation’s dedication to preserving Jamaica’s natural heritage while actively supporting the national slogan of “Jamaica Nice, Protect we Paradise”.

The Labour Day environmental initiative saw teams from Supreme Ventures Foundation and Caymanas Park coming together to plant numerous trees across the racing facility’s grounds, including varieties of poui and poor man’s orchid varieties. These carefully selected species will not only add natural beauty to the Park’s landscape but will also provide cooling benefits for patrons and staff, contributing to improved air quality, enhanced biodiversity, and the overall beautification of the venue.

“Our commitment to sustainability is not just a corporate obligation, we view it as a fundamental responsibility we have to future generations of Jamaicans,” said Chloleen Daley-Muschett, assistant vice-president of public relations and corporate affairs at Supreme Ventures Limited. “The Labour Day planting exercise at Caymanas Park represents our continued dedication to environmental preservation and our role in protecting Jamaica’s natural beauty.”

Extending the environmental impact beyond the Park’s boundaries, Supreme Ventures took the initiative a step further by distributing tree seedlings across its retail outlet network throughout Jamaica. This approach enabled customers and community members to participate directly in the environmental conservation effort, transforming individual retail interactions into opportunities for collective environmental action.

“We believe that everyone can and should play a role in Jamaica’s environmental protection,” noted Daley-Muschett. “By providing seedlings to our customers we’re helping to plant the seeds of environmental consciousness throughout our communities and create a multiplier effect that extends beyond what we can do directly. Every tree planted by our customers becomes part of a larger movement to preserve Jamaica’s natural paradise.”

This Labour Day initiative builds upon Supreme Ventures Foundation’s ongoing environmental programmes and represents the latest phase in Caymanas Park’s comprehensive sustainability strategy, which previously included the installation of solar panels to reduce the facility’s carbon footprint as well as its ongoing recycling partnership with Recycling Partners of Jamaica.

The success of this Labour Day environmental initiative reflects the power of collaborative action in addressing environmental challenges, and demonstrates how corporate leadership can inspire community-wide participation in sustainability efforts.
