Trelawny mechanic faces firearm and ammunition charges
TREWLANY, Jamaica— A Trelawny man has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition following a raid of his home by the police in Friendship in the parish on Tuesday.
He is a 33-year-old Devon McIntyre, a mechanic from Friendship.
Reports from the Falmouth police are that on Tuesday, about 5:30 am, the police, armed with a search warrant, knocked and attempted to enter the dwelling of McIntyre, who ran from the front room to the back and threw a brown grocery bag in the back yard.
He was subsequently apprehended, and the bag was retrieved. The bag was searched, and a Taurus 9mm pistol loaded with a magazine containing three 9mm rounds was found inside.
McIntyre was charged on Tuesday, after a caution statement and an interview.
