Our Lady of the Angels take lead after day one of Prep Champs
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Our Lady of the Angels have taken a five-point lead after day one of the JISA Prep Schools Track and Field Championship, powered by GK General Insurance, at the National Stadium on Thursday.
After two finals, Our Lady of the Angels is on top with 17 points, with Mona Prep sitting second with 12 points. The 2023 champion Emmanuel Christian Academy, with 11 points, is third, just ahead of Vaz Prep in fourth on nine points. St Andrew Prep on seven points rounded out the top five.
Morris Knibb (6), defending champion St Peter and Paul (5.5), Hydel (5), Mount St Joseph (1), and Know Junior (0.5) completed the top 10.
Zion Reid of Our Lady of the Angels captured gold in the first final of the day, winning the Boys’ Class 2 high jump with a leap of 1.35.
Julani Robinson of Vaz was second with 1.25m, the same height as third and fourth placed Kamron Jones of Emmanuel Christian Academy and Nikolai Brown of St Peter and Paul.
In the Girls’ Class 2 high jump, the top four competitors all cleared 1.15m as Leila Bell of Mona emerged victorious ahead of Emily Young of St Andrew’s and Morris Knibb’s Kristen Williams. Kristen Martin of Emmanuel Christian Academy was fourth.
