Vacation planner to repay money after allegedly leaving couple stranded in Panama
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A woman has agreed to repay $205,000 after two complainants paid her to plan their vacation but were reportedly provided with nothing more than flights to the destination.
Denise Faulknor appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday having allegedly collected $474,000 from a man and woman to plan their trip to Panama, inclusive of accommodation, flights and other additions.
While Faulknor did secure their flights, when the complainants arrived, nothing else was reportedly prepared for them, and they had to pay for everything out of pocket.
Faulknor was subsequently charged with fraudulent conversion.
During case management on Tuesday, the parties agreed to undergo mediation and Faulknor committed to paying back the money in increments by October 30th.
Citing similar complaints against Faulknor, Senior Parish Judge Sanchia Burrell encouraged her to make “good faith” payments to others she allegedly owed to avoid ending up before the courts again.
