Kingston woman charged with embezzlement
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A 25-year-old clerk has been charged with embezzlement at a Kingston business establishment between March and June 2025.
Desi-Ann Blackwood, a clerk of Upper King Street, Kingston, was employed by the company to collect monies from customers, amounting to J$973,716.00. It is alleged that Blackwood used the money for her own benefit.
An audit of her account allegedly proved the discrepancies.
The matter was reported to the police and an investigation was launched.
Blackwood was subsequently apprehended and taken into custody where she was charged after she was pointed out to the police.
Her court date has not been finalised.
