VOWS: Our Dreams Came True

Eschew all thoughts of a meet-cute. Think instead: A modern romance that blossomed online, the result of that ubiquitous right swipe! That swipe would culminate in the nuptials, on August 2, 2025, of project manager Christina Plummer and Jamaica Defence Force officer Shaquille Wynn at the Hibiscus Lodge Hotel in Ocho Rios.

It was during the festive season of December 2023 that fate intervened. For Christina and Shaquille, the season’s magic wasn’t found under a mistletoe, but in a simple match on Tinder, where a heartfelt first message from Shaquille lit the spark.

“We met on December 17. The conversation flowed so beautifully, that within 48 hours we were on a dinner date,” Christina shared with Tuesday Style Vows (TSV)
. Confident in the powerful connection they shared, Shaquille saw no reason to hesitate. He made their relationship official on December 31, asking Christina to be his girlfriend just as the world counted down to a new year. The pace of their romance may have been swift, but for Christina, it was their bond that mattered most. “We shared so much in common, including our birthdays being just a day apart — his on January 16 and mine on the 18th,” Christina shared. “That deep connection made saying yes easy.” Their relationship, fuelled by spontaneous adventures and shared goals, left no doubt that they were soulmates.

The proposal came two years later. “We were at the piano bar on the Carnival Magic cruise when the performance crew finished karaoke,” Christina recalled. “He secretly arranged for them to call me to the stage, where he then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes!”

With décor by Plus One Wedding Services, Christina and Shaquille’s dream wedding unfolded three months later.

While Shaquille cut a dashing figure in his military attire, Christina stunned in a satin mermaid gown. To the sounds of an instrumental rendition of the Elvis Presley classic Can’t Help Falling In Love, Christina, escorted by her father, Ainsworth Plummer, walked up the aisle ready to commit her future to Shaquille.

Guided by Reverend Jeffrey S White the two exchanged wedding vows.

The celebration continued at the reception, where guests enjoyed catering provided by the Hibiscus Lodge. An intimate gathering of family and friends shared in the newly-weds’ joy, offering toasts before Shaquille and Christina cut their two-tiered fruitcake provided by Janarl Creations. The newly-weds opened the dance floor with Shania Twain’s From This Moment, a perfect song to celebrate their journey and their new life together.

Shaquille and Christina are planning a honeymoon to Europe.
