The wait is over. Caymanas Park will be buzzing with excitement as live racing resumes today, following a three-week break caused by Hurricane Melissa, which hit western Jamaica hard.

The spotlight will be on the $1.25-million StarGas United Racehorse Trainers’ Association of Jamaica (URTAJ) Trophy where three-year-old bay colt Another One looks all set to take home the Restricted Overnight Allowance contest over six furlongs (1,200m).

Another One has already proven himself at this level, finishing third in his previous two starts, and this one looks like a walkover. The colt’s pedigree, sired by Aveenu Malcainu and out of Chintagoodaz, is a winning combination, and his recent workouts have been impressive.

The Anthony Nunes trainee worked 49.2 for four furlongs (800m) on Saturday, November 1. Another One then galloped five and a half furlongs (1,100m) in 1:07.4 with five furlongs (1,000m) done in 1:01.2 on Saturday, November 8. Dick Cardenas will ride Another One.

The native-bred three-year-old contest is positioned as the ninth and final event on the day with a post time of 5:00 pm. First race is at 11:50 am.

If Another One falters, the competition will be ready to pounce. Zulu Warrior, Allegiance, I Dream Again, and Comehometome are all looking to capitalise and take the top spot.

Zulu Warrior was beaten by a ½ length behind Mr Senator on October 25 over six and a half furlongs (1,300m). Although facing tougher rivals, Zulu Warrior can go one better here.

Although he may need more real estate to be fully effective, don’t write off Allegiance here, he might cause an upset with his strong finishing ability.

This year’s Jamaica Derby winner I Dream Again has done nothing in his two starts at this level. I Dream Again should be able to get among the earners here as he has been well-prepared coming into the race.

Comehometome didn’t showed anything from three starts at this level. However, based on class and talent, Comehometome is expected to make a brave bid here and could surprise.
