Of a Revolution set for dominant run in Miracle Man Cup

Of a Revolution set for dominant run in Miracle Man Cup

THE highly-rated Of a Revolution (MacLean’s – Hot Spell) is poised for another dominant performance in this afternoon’s $2-million Miracle Man Cup feature race at Caymanas Park.

The seven-year-old American-bred chestnut horse made a winning debut on December 6, defeating rivals by two lengths in the Grade One Bruceontheloose Sprint with a time of 1:19.2 for six-and-a-half furlongs (1,300m).

Dropping down in class for this Open Allowance contest over seven furlongs (1,400m), Of a Revolution is expected to continue his winning streak. He has trained well, clocking 59.1 seconds for five furlongs (1,000m) on Christmas Day. Two-time and defending champion jockey Raddesh Roman remains in the saddle.

The three-year-old and upward contest is positioned as the eighth event on the nine-race card with a post-time of 4:35 pm, with the first race at 12:00 pm.

The real showdown in the Miracle Man Cup might just be the battle for second place. With Of a Revolution looking like a class apart, the spotlight shifts to the eight horses vying for the remaining spots.

Digital One, trained by Gary Subratie, looks like a strong contender, while Jason DaCosta’s pair of
Girvano and Is That Fact are also in the mix.

Given the quality of the field, it’s anyone’s game, and any of the eight horses could spring a surprise and grab second place. The fight for second might just be the most thrilling part of the race.

Digital One was a winner over seven-and-a-half furlongs (1,500m) prior to her fifth-place finish in the US$300,000 Mouttet Mile on December 6, clocking 1:33.3 for the distance. If she can replicate that form, Digital One could pip others for the runner-up spot. Her experience and recent form make her a horse to watch in the battle for second place.

Girvano’s got a chance to bounce back from eighth place in the Mouttet Mile. He’s trained well since, clocking 1:14.2 for six furlongs (1,200m) on Boxing Day, and with his come-from-behind style, he could sneak into second place with a strong finish.

Is That A Fact’s seventh place in the Bruceontheloose Sprint doesn’t tell the full story. He was facing
Of a Revolution, who’s looking unbeatable. Still, Is That A Fact’s got the talent to make a brave bid for second, and he could be a dark horse in the mix.

Both Girvano and Is That A Fact are horses to watch in the fight for second place.
