Ten biggest companies on JSE in 2025

AS we reflect on the year 2025, we’ll be analysing the 10 largest companies on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) by market capitalisation.

1) Scotia Group Jamaica Limited (SGJ): Market capitalisation $165.38 billion; closing price $53.15; 9.68 per cent weighting of entire Main Market valued at $1.708 trillion. SGJ is a financial services group involved in banking, wealth management, and insurance. 2024 Position: 2

Shares outstanding: 3,111,572,984

52-week range: $50.00 – $63.99

One-year performance: –0.77 per cent

Dividend yield: 3.39 per cent

2) Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited (SJ): Market capitalisation $156.93 billion; closing price $40.18; 9.19 per cent weighting of entire Main Market. SJ is a financial services provider primarily involved in insurance, banking, investments, and other related services. 2024 Position: 3

Shares outstanding: 3,905,634,916

52-week range: $37.00 – $49.00

Year-to-date performance: –0.50 per cent

Dividend yield: 4.13 per cent

3) Massy Holdings Limited (MASSY): Market capitalisation $150.43 billion; closing price $76.00; 8.81 per cent weighting of entire Main Market. Massy is a Trinidad-based conglomerate with portfolios in integrates retail, gas products, motors and machines. 2024 Position: 1

Shares outstanding: 1,979,384,540

52-week range: $65.01 – $87.50

One-year performance: –10.51 per cent

4) NCB Financial Group Limited (NCBFG): Market capitalisation $100.46 billion; closing price $38.87; 5.88 per cent weighting of entire Main Market. NCBFG is a financial services group operating in insurance, banking, and wealth management across the Caribbean. 2024 Position: 4

5) Carreras Limited (CAR): Market capitalisation $87.91 billion; closing price $18.11; 5.15 per cent weighting of entire Main Market. CAR is a business involved in the marketing and distribution of cigarettes and vaping devices produced by British American Tobacco plc subsidiaries. 2022 Position: 13

Shares outstanding: 4,854,400,000

Dividend yield: 8.23 per cent.

6) Barita Investments Limited (BIL): market capitalisation $87.90 billion; closing price $72.03; 5.15 per cent weighting of entire Main Market. BIL is a licensed securities dealer and primary dealer for the Bank of Jamaica. 2024 Position: 5

7) Caribbean Cement Company Limited (CCC): Market capitalisation $86.59 billion; closing price $101.73; 5.07 per cent weighting of entire Main Market. CCC is a manufacturer of cement and clinker and mines gypsum, shale and pozzolan. 2024 Position: 9

8) Pan Jamaica Group Limited, formerly PanJam Investment Limited (PJAM): Market capitalisation: $82.93 billion; closing price $50.95; 4.86 per cent weighting of entire Main Market. PJAM is a holding company involved in private equity/financial services, property and infrastructure, specialty foods and global services. 2024 Position: 6

Shares outstanding: 1,627,725,023

Dividend yield: 1.39 per cent

9) Guardian Holdings Limited (GHL): Market capitalisation $79.47 billion; closing price $342.50; 4.65 per cent weighting of entire Main Market. GHL is a Trinidad-based group of companies focused on insurance services and asset management; it is a subsidiary of NCBFG. 2024 Position: 10

10) Seprod Limited (SEP): market capitalisation $76.44 billion; closing price $83.91; 4.48 per cent weighting of entire Main Market. Seprod is a manufacturer and distribution company with a footprint in Jamaica and the English-speaking Caribbean; parent company of Caribbean Producers (Jamaica) Limited and A S Bryden & Sons Holdings Limited. 2024 Position: 12
