Person of interest in Manchester killings surrenders, says ACP Phillips

MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Police are reporting that progress has been made into the probe of the murder of four men in Manchester recently with one of two persons of interest surrendering.

The update was shared on Thursday by Area Three Assistant Commissioner of Police Christopher Phillips.

“The investigation is progressing nicely. One person of interest has since turned himself in, that is CJ [Wilson], and we still await Orane Nelson, otherwise “Blacks”, “Mad Dawg,” who is from Marshalls Crescent in May Day, Manchester. Pretty soon we will prefer charges against the other person and we continue to do the investigations,” he said.

The newly minted Area Three commander said he supported the Manchester police in a walkthrough of New Hall, Old England and Ellen Street where the four men were killed in three incidents between Saturday night and Sunday morning. Dejaune Hamilton, Raheem Ward, 22, otherwise called Richie Rich; Adrian Reid; and David Brown, 33 were killed by gunmen.

“The following day, we were in the community reassuring the citizens there. They were shaken up by what happened, it is not a popular thing within their community, but we are progressing with the investigation,” said Phillips.

He listed persons of interest and wanted men in Manchester, Clarendon and St Elizabeth.

In Manchester, ACP Phillips listed Oral Cole, otherwise called “Pretty Rass” or “Sparta”, an escapee from the Black River police station lockup, as wanted.

“[He] is said to be in the Mile Gully area. He is wanted for murders and shootings. He escaped the Black River lockup on June 19, 202,3 and he has been giving us some problems since,” said Phillips.

Michael Chambers, otherwise called “Panky”, was also listed as wanted in Manchester.

“He frequents Porus and Old Harbour Bay. He is wanted for murders committed in 2025,” said Phillips.

In St Elizabeth, Andre Blackwood, otherwise called “Squit Squit” is listed as wanted.

“[He] is of Windsor district in St Elizabeth. He is wanted for assault at common law and possession of a prohibited weapon committed on August 29 last year,” said Phillips.

He listed Ashaune Wint, otherwise called “Not Nice” as a person of interest in a murder committee in Crawford, St Elizabeth, last month.

“He frequents Giddy Hall in St Elizabeth and St John’s Road in St Catherine. He is a person of interest in the murder of Albert Smith, and that was committed on January 2, 2026, that happened in the Crawford district [near] Black River, St Elizabeth,” said Phillips.

In Clarendon, Phillips listed three men as wanted.

“We have at least three persons who we believe that if these persons come in we will see a much safer Clarendon,” he said.

“Shacoy Campbell, otherwise called ‘Tall Wayne’, is wanted for the murder of Prince Claire, which was committed on December 3, 2024 at White Chapel District in Clarendon. Andre Sewell, otherwise called ‘Jaydon’. [He] is wanted for the murder of Andre Henry, otherwise called ‘Fox’, that was committed on March 30, 2022 in Race Track, Clarendon. Troy Callaghan, otherwise called ‘Ashanti’ or ‘Shaun’. He is wanted for the double murder of Roy Thompson and Lloyd Raymond, and that was committed on March 10, 2024, at Old Road Toll gate in Clarendon,” said Phillips.

He said the men should surrender to the police and face justice.

“I would encourage these persons to turn themselves in, and if we have to come for these persons, we would love for them to surrender peacefully and have their day in court. The truth of the matter is given the responsibility for Area Three, I am not going to sit here and allow criminals take over the communities in Area Three. We are going to be coming at these persons in a very serious way,” said Phillips.

“We want our communities to be safer. Already, we are offended by the fact that we have nine murders across Area Three so far, and this is not what we want for this year. We are determined that we are going to make all our communities safer across Area Three,” he added.
