The St Thomas-based Karing Hearts Foundation has helped to make Easter a little brighter for children of Bath, through the donation of care packages containing food, clothing and other essential items.

The presentation was made last Wednesday at Bath Primary School and benefited students from the institution as well as Bath Basic School.

Speaking with JIS News, managing director of Karing Hearts, Kayann Wallace, said: “Over the years, we have successfully hosted numerous health and wellness fairs, back-to-school treats, and the list goes on. We have been impacting many lives in meaningful ways. Today, we are proud to continue this mission by giving back to the Bath community.”

Wallace’s daughter, Ebony Johnson, who inspired the philanthropist to start the foundation, said that she was “proud to see our efforts come to life”.

“These care packages were made possible by the Digicel Foundation, our families and friends. I would like to extend my gratitude to our partners, InTown Medical Centre, Jamaica Information Service, and Bath Primary School for their support in making this initiative a reality,” she said.

Venice Hunter, who is a parent of a nine-year-old student at Bath Primary School that benefited from the donation, expressed gratitude for the support.

“It is a timely gift, especially for those who don’t have it,” she said.

Bath Primary School Acting Principal Devmarie Blake-Brown said that the students who received care packages are those who benefit from the school’s breakfast programme or are still having challenges following Hurricane Melissa.

“The packages have certainly brought delight to these little faces and hearts as they go on their Easter break. We hope that this will be a lasting partnership that will continue to bless households. Thank you!” Brown expressed.

Since 2017, Karing Hearts Foundation has been dedicated to serving communities across the parish through acts of kindness, care and support.
