Is Holness sleeping or busy working, working?
Dear Editor,
As a young Jamaican who switched to the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) in 2016, I am deeply concerned about many things happening in today’s Jamaica.
The world around us has changed tremendously for the worse since US President Donald Trump’s second term in office. The World Bank, International Monetary Fund, and other multilaterals are predicting harder times. The rich will be richer and the poor, obviously, will be poorer.
Throughout all this, Prime Minister Andrew Holness, it is my opinion that you have been too quiet. Please speak to the people of Jamaica. What are your plans? At its last press conference, the Opposition People’s National Party spoke about the increase in gas prices and what it planned to do if it had formed the new Government.
I have also heard the taxi association members calling for fare adjustments as a result of the escalating gas price.
Please, Prime Minister, meet with your team, the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica, Planning Institute of Jamaica, the Ministry of Finance, and all other stakeholders, then come and speak to us. We need to hear from you on this matter.
