KC and Bullis School of Maryland to face off in 4x400m Penn Relays final
PHILADELPHIA, United States — Kingston College and Bullis School of Maryland are on course for another epic battle for the High School Boys Championships of Americas title on Saturday’s final day of the 130th Penn Relays Carnival at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
The two juggernaughts squared off in Saturday morning’s preliminaries where the American school, led by Olympic Games relay gold medallist Quincy Wilson fired the first shots, coming from behind to win by a scant nine-hundredth of a second.
Kingston College are seeking a fifth straight win in the mile relay while Bullis School are still to win their first in Wilson’s final year in high school.
Wilson ran an effortless 44.7 seconds split on the anchor leg to make up a 15-metre lead on Kingston College who had Jason Pitter on anchor as the teams were separated by nine hundredth of a second at the finish line.
Bullis were timed in 3:09.73 minutes to Kingston College’s 3:09.82 minutes and will be hoping to avenge their close loss last year.
Three other Jamaican schools are into the final— Jamaica College qualified for their third Championships of Americas final with 3:14.04 minutes; Excelsior High with 3:14.56 minutes and Munro College with 3:15.48 minutes.
