Shenseea, Sean Paul, Shaggy only J’can acts to top Billboard Latin Airplay
Three Jamaican recording artistes have to date topped Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart.
Sean Paul has done it twice, as a featured act on Enrique Iglesias’ 2017 hit Subeme La Radio and again in 2023 alongside Feid on Nina Bonita.
In 2015, Sunset by Farruko featuring Shaggy and Nicky Jam, spent one week at #1. That song was produced by Jamaican producer Rvssian.
Now, Shenseea has joined that elite list, as her collaboration Echo (FIFA World Cup 2026) with reggaeton artiste Daddy Yankee leaps from #6 to land at #1 on the chart.
Released in April via Def Jam Recordings, Echo was produced by Puerto Rican producer Tainy alongside Massari and Jota Rosa. The song slips from #27 to #29 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart.
Of note, Rvssian’s latest production to hit the Billboard chart (he also shares credit on the track) Pongo steps up from #44 to #41 on the Latin Airplay chart. The song which features Rauw Alejandro and Wizkid moves from #12 to #9 on Latin Rhythm Airplay and from #22 to #18 on Latin Rhythm Songs.
Jamaican producer Kheilstone continues to enjoy success with American rhythm and blues singer Kevin Ross’s single
Spin, which inches up from #6 to #5 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. However, on R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart, it moves up to #27.
Jamaican (Bam Bam), the reconstructed house/Afrobeats/dance reincarnation of Sister Nancy’s Bam Bam, produced by HUGEL and SOLTO, falls from #15 to #19 on Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. It fares better over on Warm Global Dance Radio, backtracking from #11 to #15.
Over on Billboard Global 200 chart, Jamaican (Bam Bam) falls from #80 to #82, while stepping up from #37 to #34 on Global 200 Excluding US.
Bob Marley and the Wailers continue to lead the Billboard Reggae Albums chart as Legend clocks 338 non-consecutive weeks on top.
Meanwhile, Shaggy’s hits collection Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection remains at #2, and Sean Paul’s chart-topping The Trinity rebounds at #3.
World on Fire by Stick Figure stays firm at #4, with Greatest Hits by UB40 re-entering at #5.
Sean Paul’s Grammy-winning Dutty Rock is #6, Wisdom and Set in Stone by Stick Figure at #7 and #8, while Exodus by Bob Marley and the Wailers dips to #9.
Damian “Jr Gong” Marley’s Welcome to Jamrock rebounds at #10.
Shine by Elaine Shepherd takes over the #1 spot on the Rebel Vibez Top Ten Canadian Reggae chart.
Ten Foot Wall by Tasha T moves up to #2, with Rise Up by Belinda Brady and Set Me Free by Memberz Syndicate holding down positions #3 and #4. Worldwide (Dubfare) by Lord Fury and Dub Chronicles climbs to #5.
Student of a Broken Heart by multi-JUNO Reggae award winner Exco Levi climbs to #1 on the Reggae North Canadian Top 20 Reggae and Dancehall chart.
Reggae Music Nice by Legato inches up to #2. Cucumba, last week’s #1, slides down to #3, while Slow Down by Jah Mila remains at #4. Rise Up by Belinda Brady is steady at #5 and Stronger by Sone G debuts at #20.
Butterflies by Buju Banton is still the #1 song on both the South Florida and New York Reggae charts.
The Voice of the Caribbean shared its latest Florida Reggae and Dancehall Top 20 Radio Singles chart, with
Slip N Slide by Masicka spending a 7th week at #1.
Ting Loud by Protoje and Masicka is #2, while God and Time by Vybz Kartel steps up from #5 to #3.
Hold Him Gyal by Elephant Man is firm at #4, while Butterflies by Buju Banton falls to #5.
New this week is Babylon So Evil by Capleton along with Damian and Stephen Marley.
