Big crowd expected as Business House Domino Knockout hits semis, final today
Humbert Davis, president of the National Association of Domino Bodies (NADB), says he expects a packed house and tight battles when the semi-finals and grand finale of the 2026 Business House League Knockout Championship take place today.
The games are set for 6:30 pm at the National Housing Trust (NHT) Sports Club.
In the semi-finals, Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJ) take on Covenant Insurance Brokers (CIB), and Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth, and Information (MOESYI) play Post and Telecommunication Department (PTD).
“The level of play this year has been phenomenal. We’re down to the final four and every team believes they can win it,” Davis said.
“We’re expecting a jam-packed crowd at BOJ tonight. The Business House League has grown so much and the fans love the knockout format because every game is do-or-die,” Davis told the Jamaica Observer.
He added: “PAJ versus CIB should be a real tactical battle, and MOESYI versus PTD should also be tight and competitive. I’m predicting close games and a grand finale that goes down to the wire.”
Davis also used the opportunity to thank the sponsors and venues.
“Without the support of our corporate partners and hosts like BOJ, we couldn’t stage a championship of this quality. Domino is alive and well in the corporate space,” he said.
In reaching the semi-finals, PAJ had defeated National Housing Trust (NHT) 59-57, MOESYI got the better of BOJ 53-46, and CIB defeated the Jamaica Observer 53-35.
