Wrong meter reading sends NWC bill soaring
Dear Claudienne,
I live in the Kingston 10 area and I am seeking your assistance with an incorrect meter reading on my National Water Commission (NWC) bill.
The bill, dated September 12, 2025, showed an amount due of $17,435.12, based on a current meter reading of 872. Because the amount was significantly higher than my usual monthly bill, I checked the meter after receiving the bill on September 14. The actual reading was 827. My previous bill had recorded an actual reading of 823, so the figure of 872 was clearly incorrect.
I reported the error to the NWC by telephone immediately after receiving the bill and was given reference number 9742xxx. I subsequently visited an NWC office on October 6, 2025, to follow up.
To date, I have received no response from the company, and the correction has not appeared on my bill. I would like the NWC to correct the meter reading and recalculate the amount due. I would appreciate your assistance in having the matter resolved.
YF
Dear YF,
Tell Claudienne contacted the NWC about the matter, and the necessary corrections have now been made to your bill.
We wish you all the best.
