Cavalier held to back-to-back goalless draws in Concacaf Cup
Former champions Cavalier FC were held to a 0-0 draw with Salcedo FC of the Dominican Republic at the National Stadium in Kingston on Thursday in Group B of the Concacaf Caribbean Cup, the Jamaican club’s second consecutive goalless draw in the competition.
With the draw, Salcedo FC are tied atop the group with Cibao FC, both on four points, followed by Cavalier in third on two points.
Both teams missed numerous scoring chances with Salcedo FC’s goalkeeper Favio Marte making two big saves, including in the second half when he had to go full stretch to his right to parry a curling free kick away.
The other Jamaican clubs in the competition, Portmore United and Mt Pleasant FA, lost their opening games.
