JTA president-elect, colleague in stable condition after Trelawny crash
KINGSTON, Jamaica – President-elect of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA), Dr Maureen Mullings-Nelson and another teacher were on Friday morning transported to a Kingston hospital in stable condition after sustaining multiple injuries in a two-vehicle crash on the Duncans main road in Trelawny on Thursday.
“We are more than happy to hear [the] good news that they are stable though they need further medical attention which could not be provided in Falmouth,” Communications Officer for the JTA, Leaon Nash told Observer Online.
“We are still giving thanks that the two members are alive, though in pain, though with injuries, but we are more than happy that they are still around… we give God thanks for that,” Nash added.
The crash, which occurred about 3:30 pm, involved two Honda CRV motor vehicles.
