Doctors’ strike inflicts pain, tests patience, leaves some facilities empty
The Health and Wellness Ministry says there were no adverse events at the island’s public health facilities Friday after junior doctors stayed away in protest over a long-running dispute with the Government relating to overtime pay.
However, checks by Jamaica Observer journalists in rural areas found long wait times at some facilities, while others showed no evidence of outpatient activity.
