Jamarii, Falconn score with Guestlist
FAST-RISING dancehall artiste Jamarii is continuing to build momentum in the music industry with his latest single, Guestlist, produced by Falconn.
It was released on October 7.
According to Falconn, whose real name is Alton Bennett, the song came together organically during a studio session and was completed in approximately two hours.
“I finished the beat and played it while in the studio with Jamarii. He was vibing with it, and in about two hours we had the track put together,” the producer told the Jamaica Observer’s Splash.
He explained that the concept was largely influenced by the artiste’s increasing popularity and his interactions with female supporters.
“I think with the attention that the artiste has been getting, especially from his female audience, he found a way to turn that experience into something more for the fans,” Falconn said.
The collaboration is not the first between the two entertainers. Earlier this year, they joined forces on Nuclear, which is available across digital streaming platforms.
Falconn said the reception to Guestlist has been encouraging.
“The public has been very receptive. Even before the official release, it was premièred on radio by ZJ Liquid on ZIP 103 FM, and social media feedback was positive. With its official release on music platforms, I see it’s trending, so I think that speaks a lot about how the public has received it,” he shared.
Born Jamarley Pusey, Jamarii hails from Grant’s Pen in St Andrew.
His interest in music developed during his years at New Day Primary School, where he participated in cultural activities and discovered a passion for creative writing. By grade six he was already composing songs, and two years later he recorded his first track.
His collaboration with 450 on No Days Off marked a significant milestone, introducing his music to a wider audience and creating new opportunities.
Falconn believes Jamarii’s versatility is among the qualities that distinguish him from other emerging entertainers.
“I think his ability to showcase his range this early in his career gives him a certain dexterity that will be instrumental as he grows in the industry,” he said.
For Falconn, Guestlist expands his production catalogue that includes work with Mavado, Alkaline, Kranium, Jamiel, Deno Crazy, and Marcy Chin.
Originally from Greenwich Farm, St Andrew, and Portmore, St Catherine, the producer developed his musical foundation in the church, where his fascination with drumming eventually evolved into a passion for music production.
He currently operates under Tru Ambassador Entertainment alongside his brothers Jahvy and Weekday.
Falconn remains focused on strengthening his relationships with both established and emerging artistes.
“I’m always working. The fans can expect more collaborations from Jamarii, 450, as well as other artistes,” he said.
