Tone those thighs!
WE all want to wear miniskirts, but we all don’t have great legs or thighs. However, something can be done to achieve nicely toned gams.
Gisel Harrow, personal trainer at Gymkhana, says a few key moves can help you get those thighs and legs you desire.
1. Lateral lunges
According to Harrow, in order to properly execute this move you must stand with legs shoulder width apart. “Step out to the side like you’re about to sit on one leg. Do 10 reps on each leg for three sets,” she said.
2. All fours
“Get in the hands-and-knees position and keep the knees bent as you extend to the ceiling and back. Do three sets of 10 reps,” Harrow said.
3. Wall squats
The personal trainer said to do this you must lean back against the wall in a sitting position and hold it for 30 seconds. She added that it’s best to do three sets for optimal results over time.
4. Bridges
Harrow said you must lie on your back, bring your hips up and squeeze your glutes, then return to your start position in order to execute this move. She added that three sets of 12 to 15 reps will do the trick.
5. Air squats
With your hips shoulder width apart, Harrow said to sit at a 90-degree angle and put your back up to a stand. Do three sets of 15 to 20 reps.
6. Single leg chair lunges
Harrow said using a chair, you should place one leg up, with your back facing the chair and your hands on hips for balance. She said the lower body should be towards the floor and your back up. Do three sets of 10 on each leg.
She said once you are able to manage more, you can increase the exercises by doing more sets or reps.
