Orange Day
On June 25, LASCO/Nurses Association of Jamaica Nurse of the Year 2015-2016, Treveen Palmer-Miller, hosted an Orange Day march, aimed at bringing awareness to the issue of violence against women and girls
The march started at Hi-Lo Supermarket on Old Hope Road and ended at Holy Cross Church, Half Way Tree Road.
Initiated and led by the UNiTE campaign Global Youth Network, Orange Day calls upon activists, governments and UN partners to mobilise people and highlight issues relevant to preventing and ending violence against women and girls.
Proceeds from the event were donated to the Woman Inc shelter for battered women.
