Too young to be a mother?
Being a mother is not just a title or a label, it is a sacrifice. It takes a strong mind and body to raise a child. It also takes money, and with the tendency of some men to get up and walk out, you also have to be prepared to stand alone.
It is understandable that life happens and people do get pregnant at times when they are not ready, especially in the teenage and young adult years. And so, a woman must be ready to accept the consequences that follow when she engages in sexual activities.
Consider these factors:
1. It will be your responsibility to financially take care of your baby. Most times this puts a major dent in your savings and future plans, and if you are a teen, you will probably be required to pause your education.
2. Your fun times will be put on hold. Having a baby is not the same as having a doll. You cannot play with it and put it down and move on to other things. You will be required to ensure your baby’s every needs are met.
3. You are a “nurturer”. It is your role as a mother to ensure you comfort your baby, which means that your mental capacity has to be at a healthy place.
Being a mother is no walk in the park. It takes a major sacrifice. Are you really ready?
