Dealing with insecurities in intimate relationships
We are all unique. One beautiful fact is that there is absolutely no other human being as great as you are. Your very fingerprint is unique. You therefore should be treated in a way that glorifies your uniqueness and nothing less. Insecurities, accordingly, are nothing unique, as they affect us all. It can cause a major blow in intimate relationships if not contained.
Below are five powerful ways to handle insecurities.
1. Have a relationship with God
Being spiritually disconnected is dangerous whether you are religious or not. It opens you to anything and everything. You must first build a strong connection with God and you do this through reading the Bible, prayer and meditation. Spend time knowing His uniqueness to understand yours. It also will boost your confidence.
2. Love yourself
Too much of anything is a sure way to a disastrous end, but it is important that you love yourself a little above the 100 per cent limit. You have to love yourself to understand what is needed for you and what is unhealthy for you. Truth is, if you love yourself, it is easy to detect what is not healthy for you.
3. Build on your hobbies
Find what you love to do and do it on a daily basis. It is all dandy to be a part of your partner’s life, but it is twice as important that you do not lose yourself.
4. Learn to be with YOU
So many persons are fearful of their company to the point where they need someone around them constantly. This is extremely dangerous because you can, out of desperation, choose a partner that is not good for you.
5. Have a relationship with yourself
It sounds crazy to date yourself, but it important that you do. If you do not know what you like and dislike or what makes you happy and what takes that away, you are basically giving power to another human being to manipulate you.
