Womb wellness matters
NO one wants to hear that something is off with their reproductive cycle.
In fact, reproductive health has become such a touchy topic that many women suffer in silence for fear of stigma or ostracism.
But since 2015, Ramona Riley, a womb wellness practitioner, better known as “The Vagina Lady”, has been offering holistic natural treatment to help women in this regard.
“Most women don’t have a healthy reproductive system and at this stage in my business I can tell right off the bat if a woman’s reproductive system is off,” she said.
Further, Riley said many women are tight-lipped about this, but encouraged them to seek help.
“I will have a woman coming to me because she is trying to get pregnant, then she gets pregnant and has a friend experiencing the same issue, but won’t tell her friend that she saw me. But each woman is different. I recommend they have a consultation so I can build a treatment option for them,” she said.
Riley has seen growth in this aspect of her business and told All Woman that when she started she had rented a small space at a yoga studio.
Today, her business offers consultations, womb massages, fertility massages, vagina steams, pads, yoni eggs and other things.
In order to get the best treatment option for a woman, Riley looks at a number of things before administering treatment.
“You are treated depending on your blood type, depending on your lifestyle, depending on your financial situation, reproductive history and goals. There are women who might want to heal their reproductive system but not get pregnant, and others who do want to get pregnant. Then there are two women who want the exact same thing, yet I have to go about it in two completely different ways,” Riley explained.
In addition, Riley said the truth is no one wants to feel something is wrong, but part of the problem is a lack of knowledge.
“From the first period we are not taught anything much so by the time you get to 30 your reproductive system ‘pop down’. The things we are eating, the pads we are using are harmful. The pads are bleached and you would never take bleach and pour directly on your vagina so why do you use bleached pads?” she reasoned. “Why not menstrual cups, cloth pads, disposable natural pads?”
Riley added that adjusting the diet and lifestyle practices will go a long way towards ultimate health.
