Secrets women vow to never tell their men
WE would all like to think that we know our partners and all that they are made up of inside out. And women, who are usually more generous with information, often try to sell the narrative that they tell their partners everything. But that’s just not true — we all have secrets, some that are barely there and others that may even chart up as deep and dark. And regardless of the side of the spectrum on which they fall, there are just some things that we dread ever being revealed to our significant others.
Below, women share secrets they vow they will never tell their men.
Tiffany, supervisor, 34:
I have had three abortions and I can’t ever make my husband know because he would judge me. He really loves children and we haven’t started trying yet, but I pray that when we do it will be easy because I don’t think I could manage any other way.
J, student, 26:
I found out about my boyfriend’s indiscretions and leaked a photo only him and his mistress would have otherwise been in possession of (I found it in a WhatsApp chat between him and her — he was nude) and I sent it to some people, including co-workers. He didn’t get fired, but he went through a period of embarrassment.
Michelle, paralegal, 34:
I love my fiancé very much, but he is lacking in the bedroom department and I don’t know how to tell him we have to work on it without hurting him.
Jackie, nurse, 38:
At least five of my very close relatives struggle with a range of mental illnesses and I have been treated at least twice for chronic depression. I have been doing well and I would love to talk to my husband because I am sure his support would be helpful, but my husband is insensitive on matters of mental illness.

I have a thing for girls and every time I tell my boyfriend that I am going out for girls’ night out I do go, but it also means that I end up fooling around with a girlfriend. I love my boyfriend, but I also like being with this girl — the mix works for me.

I have a secret bank account that my husband doesn’t know about. He doesn’t operate like he wants to ensure that our kids have a comfortable future or that rainy days may come, so I have to take charge.
Taneka, customer service rep, 33:
I tell my man that he is the best I have ever had; the truth is he is average. I want him to work on his game but I could never say it because it would bruise his ego and I love him too much to risk that.

I still talk to my ex even though I have forbidden my boyfriend from communicating with his ex. It is justified though because my boyfriend cheated on me with his ex.
Gretel, business owner, 53:
My family has never respected my husband; I have to beg them to tolerate him and even pay some of my siblings at times with gifts so that they are nice to him. He thinks they genuinely love him but that is not the case. They never forgave him for cheating on me very early in the marriage. All I want is the people in my life to live peacefully.
Nadine, realtor, 47:
I am a shopaholic; I buy things that I don’t need and my husband hates it. To hide my addiction, I’ll even send or take the things to my other family members’ houses so he won’t know.
