Baghdad, Ojay On The Beat team up for Illustrate
Producers Nadrae “Baghdad” Hendricks and Ojay On The Beat have combined talents on emerging deejay Dray Thugz’s track Illustrate.
It was officially released on June 16 on the Baghdad Records label.
“My hope for the song is for it to reach out and uplift the listeners to believe in themselves and have self-love and know they’re destined for greatness,” producer Baghdad told the Jamaica Observer.
Based in Jamaica and Barbados, Baghdad Records has been in existence since 2014, but was not officially launched until 2018.
Baghdad also noted that music has been his niche since he was a child.
“I [found] passion in music at a tender age. Whether you are having a good or bad day the power of music can change that,” he added.
His previous projects include the Highway rhythm, which featured Daddy 1, Roxxie, Badgettin, Kandie D’ Jambajan, Slyngaz, Gold Gad, Take Ova, and Beez Gad.
Meanwhile, Ojay On The Beat says he and Baghdad have curated a seamless working experience over the years.
“Me and Baghdad Records have been working since 2018, and we officially started working since 2020, during the COVID era. Since then we have a good chemistry with recording artistes and building beats together,” the producer told the Observer.
He too has high hopes for Dray Thugz’s Illustrate.
“I have no doubts in Baghdad Records and Dray Thugz with our new project. We want the new masses and ears to give this track a listening ear and appeal to its bellow,” added Ojay On The Beat.
He has also managed to create waves with multiple other artistes since the inception of his career.
“Most of my most famous releases are currently with younger artistes, such as Maestro Don, Slyngaz, Lavisch Music, Tella TOF, and many others. More popular artistes that I’ve worked with through third party communication/production to name a new would be Squash, Malie Don, Skillibeng, Valiant, Kraff, Chronic Law, Tommy Lee Sparta, Teejay, Quada, and many other established artistes that I’ve created/composed instrumentals for,” Ojay On The Beat explained.
The young producer continues to eye music long term and is pulling out all the stops to ensure a successful career.
“What’s next for Ojay On The Beat is to further my education in music university to achieve my certificate and start my own professional recording studio for musicians and other record labels to rent the complex for their own usage to do music and do rehearsals,” he said.
