Curaçao PM visits Jamagro Tech Farms

Jamagro Tech Farms Ltd founder and Chairman Gassan Azan on Thursday gave Curaçao Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas a tour of the $11-billion state-of-the-art agricultural development in St Catherine.

Pisas and a delegation from the southern Caribbean country was in Jamaica attending the World Free Zones Organization’s Annual International Conference and Exhibition hosted by the Jamaica Special Economic Zone at the Montego Bay Convention Centre from June 13 to June 17.

“We have interest in his country and we hope to share technology with them,” said Azan who in 2018 acquired all five supermarkets of Netherlands-based Van den Tweel Groep in Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao, known as the ABC islands.

Azan pointed out that Jamagro Tech Farms will export produce throughout the Caribbean. The 400-acre farm includes 25 acres of greenhouses, 50 acres of orchards and open fields.
