Rachel Scott, the Jamaican designer who fronts the New York-based label Diotima, continues to have quite the year! Her collection — at Bergdorf Goodman — and in particular the crystal-encrusted crochet dresses — has been spotted on the likes of celebrities Keke Palmer, Doja Cat, and Gabrielle Union.

To cap a memorable year, Scott, who was named runner-up for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, and finalist for the LVMH Prize, has won the Shop with Google American Emerging Designer of the Year award at the 2023 CFDA Fashion Awards, presented by Amazon Fashion. The ceremony took place on Monday, November 6 at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc (CFDA) is a non-profit association founded in 1962 with a membership of 458 of America's foremost womenswear, menswear, jewellery, eyewear, and accessory designers. Each year, the best and brightest gather in their finest outfits to celebrate the big wins of the past year. For the ceremony, Scott dressed media personalities Ayesha Curry, Aurora James, Rickie De Sole, and Eva Chen, as well as her guest model, Saint International alum Kai Newman.
