David Beckham“We plan on staying in America”: David Beckham hopes to become a US citizen
He’s one of Britain’s biggest stars, but David Beckham is so happy in America that he wants to become a US citizen.
Beckham, who has lived in Beverly Hills since 2007, tells the Los Angeles Times that he has considered US citizenship.
But the 35-year-old Londoner says that, whatever happens, he will always be an Englishman.
The father-of-three, who plays for LA Galaxy, also says that he and his family, including Victoria Beckham, plan to stay in the US for the foreseeable future.
“Our boys go to school here. They’re happy here,” he said of sons Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, five. “As long as they continue to be happy here, my wife’s happy here, then we plan on staying.”
Beckham’s two oldest sons — Brooklyn and Romeo — were spotted singing the Star Spangled Banner at an LA Galaxy game in October.

Glamour Woman of the Year Fergie spills about her struggle with addiction and how she’s “blessed to be alive”
She may be a successful singer and actress, but Fergie hasn’t always had it so easy.
A former crystal meth addict, the 35-year-old Black Eyed Peas star tells the December issue of Glamour magazine she feels ‘blessed’ to be alive.
“I’m not claiming to be sober,” the singer tells CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric who interviewed her for the magazine. “I think that that would be misleading. I drink alcohol. My father has a vineyard, and [the wine is] really delicious, by the way.”
“Anyway, for most addicts, they would advise never to have any sort of substance. I just have my own journey, and I am very blessed to this day to be alive.”
Fergie, real name, Stacy Ann Ferguson, is named one of the magazine’s Women of the Year. The star, who last week played a concert with the Black Eyed Peas in Brazil, will release along with the group, their new album The Beginning, at the end of this month with The Time (the Dirty Bit) as its lead single.

Brazilian workout: Matthew McConaughey tries his hand at a martial art form from his girlfriend’s native country
He has always been one to keep fit, but Matthew McConaughey is going to new lengths in search of the perfect physique.
The Texan-born actor was spotted leaving a Brazilian Ju-Jitsu studio near his home in Malibu, California yesterday after a workout.
Wearing a white tank with matching bandana around his head, the 41-year-old How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days star channelled The Karate Kid as he headed home with his Brazilian mother-in-law and baby daughter Vida in tow.
Matthew’s partner and mother to his two children is Brazilian supermodel Camila Alves so he has good reason to want to try a sport from her native country.
Camila’s mother Fatima moved from Brazil to be closer to her daughter and also helps design and run her line of handbags Muxo.
Fatima accompanied Matthew to the Brazilian studio and spent time with 11-month-old Vida.
But the actor may have another reason for getting his body in buff shape.
He is due to start filming his next project on November 8 and it is set to be quite a physical role.
McConaughey has signed on to play a killer for hire in Killer Joe, a film directed by William Friedkin and co-starring Emile Hirsch and Gina Gershon.
Filming is due to start next week in New Orleans, Louisiana.
