MONTEGO BAY, St James — Plans are advanced for Mackie Conscious to make his debut European tour this summer, which will hopefully signal a turn of fortunes for the crooner who proclaimed in one of his songs that “A just lucky me nuh lucky”.

“Right now I am in dialogue to do some European tours later this year. This tour should do much in the promotion of my album, What If. It is expected to be right after Sumfest,” Macky Conscious told the Observer.

He added: “I did couple gigs in America but not anything major. This will be my first official tour”.

The Montego Bay-based singer is currently enjoying moderate success with his recent song Nobody No Business, featuring his six-year-old daughter, Bliss.

He disclosed that the demand for the song was so high that he was prompted to do a follow-up.

“The request for a part two was so high so that I had to do a part two. The request is growing for a part three,” he told the Observer.

The singer who has penned a number of songs with positive lyrics, also plays five musical instruments.

Since 1997 Mackie Conscious begun to take his singing career seriously. Since that time he has played on the North Coast at hotels and major shows.

He has also released a number of singles including What If which went into the national top 20 chart in 1998 and made it to number 18 slot. Two year later he earned an Artiste of the Year Award from the Jamaica Federation of Musicians.

“Since then I have been on Reggae Sumfest since 2001, except for 2009. I also did Jamaica Jazz and Blues 2006 and managed to keep current in business since then.

Mackie Conscious vows to continue releasing hard hitting tunes such as Should I Run, Can’t Be a King and no Royal, and Jah is Right on Time the proceeds from which he has contributed to a project in Las Vegas to build low cost housing for the poor.
