2 trophies on offer at Bob Marley One Love football competition
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Two trophies will be up for grabs at this year’s staging of the Bob Marley One Love Fun Day Football competition on February 10.
The announcement of the additional trophy for this year’s competition was made Tuesday at a media launch at Cuddy’z Sports Bar in New Kingston.
The family-friendly event, which will also mark the celebration of the reggae legend Bob Marley’s 71st birthday, is scheduled to get under way at 4:00 pm on Ash Wednesday at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex in Arnett Gardens.
On the day, four teams will be on show. They are Masters & Celebrities, who will challenge Referees for one trophy, and Entertainers Invitational who will go up against Tuff Gong Invitational team for the other trophy.
Adults will be charged a gate fee of $200, while children will pay $100. Children under 12 will be admitted free.
Clive ‘Busy’ Campbell, head of the event’s organising committee, said that proceeds from the event will be donated to basic schools and children’s homes across the island.
