Cops arrest woman after wanted man flees
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – Police in Savanna-la-Mar are reporting that a woman has been taken into custody after the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition in Morgan’s Bridge in Westmoreland on Saturday.
Reports are that about 11:00 pm, police personnel went to premises in search of a wanted man. Upon seeing the police, the man allegedly ran from the house leaving behind a female.
The house was searched and a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol with a magazine containing eight 9mm rounds of ammunition was reportedly found.
The female was subsequently taken into custody; however, her identity is being withheld.
The police say that investigations are ongoing.
