Men flee cops leaving guns behind

ST JAMES, Jamaica – Police in St James say they seized two firearms and several rounds of ammunition during an operation in Porto Bello, yesterday.

Reports from the Mount Salem police are that between 12:50 am and 2:30 am, officers in the community saw men acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion. When the lawmen approached the men, they allegedly fled. 

The police say the area was searched and a .40 Smith and Wesson revolver with 10 rounds of ammunition as well as a 9mm Taurus pistol with 15 rounds of ammunition were found.

The police say no one was arrested in connection with the find.
