NE St Elizabeth MP says issues can be resolved without roadblocks
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — Member of Parliament for North Eastern St Elizabeth Raymond Pryce pointed out in a statement today that opportunists may use perceived divisions to create dislocation across communities in the constituency.
He issued the statement, through the People’s National Party, following reports of protests across the constituency early Monday.
“We awoke to the news of protests across North Eastern St Elizabeth this morning,” Pryce said. “Various sources have reported different reasons for the protests, to include issues arising within the political organisation of the People’s National Party within the constituency.”
However, he said that roadblocks cannot be the only way to resolve disputes.
“In short order, through the usual internal channels all issues can and will be resolved,” the MP said.
Meanwhile, Pryce pointed out that the most important objective must be the restoration of the free access to and from communities, which have for now been prevented.
“It is also the start of the Easter Term,” Pryce insisted. “Everyone is aware of my great advocacy for the education of our youth and children, the custodians of Jamaica’s future.
“It is even more critical that they are allowed to go to school as are their teachers and principals,” he said.
OBSERVER ONLINE has since learnt that the blockages have been cleared.
