Over 20 candidates yet to sign political code of conduct
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Office of the Political Ombudsman is today reporting that more than 20 candidates have not signed the Agreement and Declaration on Political Conduct.
Political Ombudsman Donna Parchment Brown, in a press release Wednesday, has expressed disappointment in those who are yet to sign the agreement and described their actions as a blatant disrespect to the office and its mandate.
Some of the Jamaica Labour Party’s candidates who have up to today not signed, include Michael Stern, Pearnel Charles, Andrea Walters, Delano Seiveright, Dr Christopher Tufton, Welton Shettlewood, and Alando Terrelonge.
While for the People’s National Party the list includes: Lisa Hanna and Robert Pickersgill.
The release added that they are being encouraged to sign as soon as possible and that failing to do so will raise the question as to their suitability for representational politics.
