PNP to host islandwide town hall meetings

THE ruling People’s National Party (PNP) will tomorrow launch its 2015 ‘Face2Face’ series at the Campion College Auditorium in St Andrew.

The series, which will take the form of town hall consultations will see ministers and mayors providing updates on things achieved at both the local and central government levels.

Mayor of Kingston Angela Brown Burke, Minister of Finance and Planning Peter Phillips, Education Minister Ronald Thwaites, and Minister of National Security Peter Bunting are expected to be the presenters at the launch.

A release from the PNP on Monday said the ‘Face2Face’ format will see each presenter giving seven-minute-long opening remarks, which will be followed by questions from the audience.

The results of the questions and answers will be compiled into various publications, the release continued.

Raymond Pryce, deputy general secretary for communications, said that the theme for the series is: ‘We want to hear your voice’.

Thursday’s activities will commence at 5:30 pm and will be followed by other installations.

“Stops will be made in all 14 parishes as well as the Portmore Municipality before this specific round of consultations conclude,” the release said.
