Police probe illegal land sale in St Andrew hills
ST ANDREW, Jamaica – The Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) has launched an investigation into allegations of the illegal sale and distribution of Government and privately owned land in Dallas Mountain, Papine, St Andrew.
The investigation comes against the backdrop of reports that a hundreds of people have paid money towards the cutting of roads and cleaning plots of land allocated to them or to secure an interest in obtaining lots.
“Be advised that no authorisation was granted to anyone or institution to undertake such activity and any such action is a breach of the law,” said Senior Superintendent of Police Clifford Chambers
The police are appealing to individuals who were allotted lots and/or have paid money to secure lots to contact Detective Inspector Andrew Phinn at C-TOC Fraud Squad by calling 948-5906 or 922-5587 or visiting the C-TOC office at 34 Duke Street Kingston.
