Woman hits ex in eye for allegedly throwing her clothes on the floor
A woman faced the court for using a cellular phone to injure her child’s father’s eye during a fight.
According to Kemelle Mattis, the dispute started after the complainant went to her house and threw her clothes on the ground.
“He is my ex and everywhere him see me him a pick fight with me. If him see me a party ,him a try draw me out, “ she reported
However, Mattis said that on the day of the incident she was home when the complainant went there, pulled down her clothes from where they were and threw them on the ground.
She said that an argument developed and her ‘babyfather’ shoved her and she swung her hand at him and the phone caught him in his eye.
The complainant, however, denied throwing Mattis’ clothes on the ground.
He told the court that he went to the house to pick up his daughter and had to pack her bag. However, he said Mattis’ clothes were lying on top of his daughter’s bag and he took them up and rested them on the floor and Mattis started ‘flaring up”.
“Yes, man a yard, I don’t know why you gone to people place and a put clothes on floor,” the judge said, eliciting laughter from the court.
“When me rest the clothes on the floor she come a flare up and me ease her off and pack the bag, and she come back and me ease her off and she hit me in my eye,” he added.
When asked by the judge if he was still seeing out of the eye, he answered by saying, “Sometimes.”
However, he told the court that he has another appointment with his doctor on Saturday and the judge as a result postponed Mattis’ sentencing for September 7.
Mattis, who pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding, had her bail extended.
