Woman involved in dispute with teen to stand trial February 25
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A woman accused of throwing a corrosive substance at a teenager is to stand trial next year.
Despite Angela Davis’ guilty plea, Parish Judge Tracey Ann Johnson said that based on her explanation she was defending herself so the matter would be sent to trial in the night court.
The court was told that on November 16, Davis threw a substance from a bottle at the minor causing blisters on her body.
Davis told the court that the minor attacked her over a school tie that she found on her way home from work.
Davis further told the court that when she arrived home, the minor confronted her about the tie.
“She start tell mi say a her brother tie and start send mi up under mi mother so mi ask her why she a behave so. She spat at me, but it never catch me. She threw two bottles at me and was running towards me. Me see the bottle and mi throw it at her,” Davis said.
A February 25 trial date was set after the judge asked an attorney to explain the process to Davis.
