Woman killed in motor vehicle crash
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — The St Elizabeth police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding a vehicular crash on the Middle Quarters main road in the parish on Sunday which claimed the life of a woman and injured three other people.
Dead is 28-year-old Caren Salmon, a store clerk of Burnt Ground in the parish.
Reports from the Black River police are that about 1:30 pm, Salmon was a passenger in a Toyota Land Cruiser, which was heading towards Black River. On reaching a section of the roadway the driver allegedly lost control of the motor vehicle and crashed into several small shops along the side of the road.
Salmon received multiple injuries and was taken to hospital where she died while being treated. Another passenger in the motor vehicle, the driver and a person who was in one of the shops sustained minor injuries; they were treated at hospital and released.
