LIONEL TOWN, Clarendon — Tru Juice moved within a point of leaders Meadows FC when they eased past Hillstars 2-0 at Cobbla on Saturday in a cross-zone match of the South Central Super League.

Dexter Genus (75th) and Dwayne Lewin (83th) struck late in the second half as the St Catherine club improved to 20 points and are now closing in on Meadows, who gave up a late goal in a 1-1 draw against Tafari Lions at Albion.

Meadows took a first-half lead, but Kemar Smith equalised for Tafari Lions (13) in the second half as the St Elizabeth team inched to sixth place.

In other games, Newlands (16) and Naggo Head (15) ended 0-0 in the big St Catherine ‘derby’ to remain in third and fourth respectively.

At Monymusk Sports Club on Sunday, Christopher Dunn netted twice (58th and 90th) and Alton Taylor once (62nd) as Monymusk (14) got the better of 10-man Woodhall (six) 3-0 in the Clarendon ‘derby’.

Glenroy Levy (88th) and Damion Greghorn (90th) scored in the last two minutes of the game to earn Bodles (13) a point, as they ended 2-2 with Downs on Saturday.

Randy Bartley in the 15th minute and Deshorn Brown in the 33rd gave Downs (10) a 2-0 lead at half-time.

In the battle of the cellar teams, Leeds earned their second point in two weeks after ending 1-1 with Original Hazard (seven) at Braes River.

After a goalless first half at Monymusk, in which Woodhall’s Jermaine Wright saw red in the sixth minute, Dunn opened the scoring on minute 58 as he eluded the offside trap and lobbed the advancing Woodhall goalkeeper.

Four minutes later, Taylor made it 2-0 by heading into an empty net. The Woodhall custodian, who was brilliant in goal, saved the initial shot from Dunn but was let down by his defenders who watched as Taylor pounced onto a loose ball.

Dunn capped a beautiful performance in the 90th with a second goal as he outsprinted two Woodhall defenders to collect a perfectly-weighted pass before slotting home.
