Fashion Trends for the little ones
Nudes and muted tones, often paired with black, are a hot trend in fashion this year, so too are lace, silk and chiffon fabrics with gold and silver accents. Women are basking in this trend, so why shouldn’t our children rock it too? Our little girls can display their trendy fashion sense as long as it is in keeping with the colour lines, fabrics, and styles that are age-appropriate. This week we use a beige eyelet and ivory dupioni silk to create a look inspired by this popular trend for Anna and her friend Madison, who’s wearing her own pieces in silk, chiffon and ivory lace.
Anna’s skirt was very simple to make.
You will need to:
1. Use the width of the fabric to get the width of the skirt, then cut to your desired length.
2. Stitch and gather top to your waist measurement.
3. Close seams.
4. Then attach 3-inch elastic waistband.
Eyelet is a beautiful traditional fabric that is great for little girls, and this style makes it current. We paired it with a black tank top and black leggings to act as a lining for the eyelet holes.
