Fire brigade a cut above the rest
Dear Editor,
In Jamaica, we have public sector groups which offer essential services. Of all of them, the Jamaica Fire Brigade is a cut above the rest. Whenever a fire, or any other incident in which they are called upon to help, is reported in the media, for the most part they are portrayed in a positive light.
Having one’s house destroyed by fire is devastating. It is a time when emotions run high and those affected could easily try and pass on the blame. In spite of this, you still find people praising the efforts of the fire brigade for their swift actions. Rarely do you see them being accused of inefficiencies. Surely they must be doing their job right.
Even in cases of internal matters, they still display a level of maturity and professionalism that is commendable. I, therefore, take time out to congratulate them for doing an excellent job over the years, and encourage them to continue to show commitment to their mandate.
