Affordable LIME rates
Dear Editor,
This is my sigh of relief in response to LIME’s announcement made last Thursday of a decrease in rates. Mr Editor, with all the burdens of taxation Jamaica is under, this is one very bold step being taken by LIME to give the nation a helping hand.
With the announcement of the TALK EZ plan, as a “dual citizen” in the telecoms world, I must inquire why the other network has not yet stepped up to the plate and dropped its rates?
I am grateful that now I will have to pay only $2.99 to call other LIME phones, $6.99 to the other network and $2.99 to the United States, Canada and England. The new overseas calling rate will be well appreciated by most of our population, seeing that those countries account for the largest population of the Jamaican diaspora.
These new LIME rates are remarkably affordable and the most outstanding of all is the LIME to other network rate, which has been the biggest burden for customers of both networks. Communication is the key to life and mobile phones today are no longer a luxury but a necessary piece of technology. It is heartwarming to see a corporate company dropping prices to suit the needs of the consumers.
LIME, keep up the good work. Now I am calling everybody I know abroad just to say, “Howdy do” for “likkle and nutn”.Cheryl Downer
