Osmosis takes on economic climate
SUMMER party, Osmosis, was launched at the Acropolis in Barbican Centre, St Andrew, on Monday.
Organised by MC Entertainment, this year’s festivities intend to take on the current economic climate with an inspired promotional campaign.
“We will be having an Osmosis week,” said Deane Shepherd of MC Entertainment. “It’s an initiative to provide both tangible and intangible returns to our sponsors and party patrons alike.”
Osmosis Luxe Life scheduled for Saturday, July 7 at Fort Charles, Port Royal, will be preceded by a week designed to generate business for sponsors and offer discounts to potential ticket buyers.
“Osmosis will run from Saturday, June 30, to the following Saturday, the date of the party, on July 7,” said Shepherd. “The incentives will be provided by our eatery, clothing, and lifestyle sponsors.”
The most significant promotions announced for the Osmosis week launch were from title sponsor Smirnoff, Reggae Jammin, LIME, and NCB.
“Smirnoff will be offering a 20 per cent discount on all Smirnoff cocktails at Cuddy’z and The Acropolis,” said Leleika Barnes, Smirnoff assistant brand manager.
Racquel Rowe, Reggae Jammin’s brand manager, added that her company is offering 5 per cent off their chicken frankfurters at Hi-Lo supermarkets islandwide. Not to be outdone were LIME and NCB.
“For Osmosis Week, LIME has the new iPhone 4S for as low as $15,000, plus tax, with a 12-month contract,” said Nathaniel Palmer, LIME events manager.
NCB, through their Keycard, will give new members 3,000 points upon sign-up and if they write Osmosis on their application, the membership fee will be waived for a year. Also, all transactions at Osmosis Week merchants over $1,000 will be worth 100 points.
