AMERICAN-BRED colt Richieshappynotion outran Overnight Allowance company once again for his third win from five starts since climbing to this level in February to take the $715,000 GA “Sarge” Bucknor Memorial Cup feature by 3 1/4 lengths at Caymanas Park yesterday.

However, it was champion and leading trainer Wayne DaCosta who combined with leading jockey Dane Nelson to dominate the 11-race card with a three-timer.

The top-performing trainer/jockey combination opened their triple-success with the 3-5 favourite Searching For Gold in the second race, then came up trumps in the fifth with another favourite, St Bernard at 6-5, and capped the day in the sixth with Lisa Vibes at odds of 3-1.

DaCosta moved his tally of wins for the season to 37, while Nelson took his to 64 — 18 more than closest rival champion jockey Dick Cardenas on 46.

Cardenas rode one winner on the programme, while Ellis, who is in third on 43, had two wins.

In the day’s “Sarge” Bucknor Mem feature Richieshappynotion, the 4-5 favourite ridden by Omar Walker for trainer Lorne Kirlew, ran 1000 metres straight in a fast-paced 58.0 seconds flat behind fractions of 22.2 and 45.0 set by the winner.

Mr Skill, a seven-year-old straight specialist who returned to Overnight Allowance from claiming company, ridden by 2.0kg claiming apprentice Robert Halledeen, tracked the winner from the off but failed to get on event terms and finished second at odds of 4-1.

Halo’s Image chestnut filly Nyabinghi, another imported runner, showed as a 25-1 chance, ridden by claiming apprentice Chalrick Budhai, while the imported Concerto colt Sir D, ridden by Shane Ellis, completed the frame at odds of 3-1 in a field of 10.

A field of 11 runners was declared, but Jaylen was declared a late non-runner.

Owned by Jigzy Blades, Richieshappynotion, a four-year-old bay colt by Great Notion out of Happy Sylvia (King Of Kings) was winning for the fourth time from eight career starts and earned $390,600 as the winner’s share for earnings of $1,824,300 lifetime.
