No winner for Walker
AFTER riding his first winner a week ago former champion jockey Omar Walker failed to ride a winner despite securing 12 rides at Assiniboia Downs racetrack in Canada over last weekend.
Walker, 31, came close to notching his second winner from six rides on Sunday when he finished second on the 8-5 favourite Discreet Gold in the third race, an Allowance event for three-year-olds and upwards over four-and-one-half furlong (on the dirt).
On Saturday, Walker secured six rides but could only manage two third place finishes. Wild N Grazy in the third race and Heavenly Lioness in the fourth race, both horses are trained by Murray Duncan.
