Drinks On The Rock!
KINGSTON’S newest exclusive nightlife venue that now forms the ‘lifestyle community’ along the Stony Hill skyline is 2,500 sq ft of clean, sleek spot created ostensibly to profile — owner David ‘Squeeze’ Annakie might wish to slip in — overtired privacy-seeking celebs. So far, it’s Mission Accomplished! And we reckon Lisa Moo, the interior decorator, would concur. The finished product, when all is said and done, is supposed to find favour with those it was intended for. Based on the feedback… Drinks on the Rock delivers.
Moo, who was faced with an existing bar with very strong elements and a black and white colour palette, had five days to deliver.
What was immediate, she shared with SO, “was the need to infuse strong vibrant colour and create some warmth at the same time”. Indeed, the introduction of black, sheer drapery panels has softened the very hard architecture of the space, while metallic accessories, furniture and lighting are used to complement the existing large mirrored columns.
“Combining all these,” concludes Moo, “in a very short time and with a limited budget, allowed for Drinks on the Rock to become an urban-chic lounge in the hills of the Kingston.”
We leave, as always, the final word to the city’s fickle patrons.
